On Monday, January 16, 2023, Adeline Lloyd, loving wife and mother of seven children, passed away at age 93. Many of Adeline’s friends and family knew her by her nickname Patsy.
Patsy was born on January 21st, 1929 in Gum Tree, Pennsylvania to Lydia Mattson. Patsy spent much of her youth in the care of John and Jennie Coover. Married to Richard G. Lloyd Sr. on December 20th, 1948, they raised five sons and two daughters, Richard Lloyd Jr. (Merrillee), Robert Lloyd (Sandy), Russell Lloyd (Betty), Joyce Sexton, Kathleen Maule (Lawrence), Kenneth Lloyd (Sally) and Gary Lloyd. Patsy was a beloved grandmother to fifteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
Patsy was known for being a compassionate and caring person. This could be seen through her career as a nurse. She was a nurse at the West Grove Hospital and later as Jennersville Hospital where she served as operating room supervisor.
Patsy an active member of the Chatham United Methodist Church. As well as the group Roses in Winter.
Patsy lived an active life on their family dairy farm and caring for her family. She also enjoyed many hobbies such as painting crocheting and creating beautiful flower arrangements. She often delivered these flower arrangements to friends and family members in need as well as making arrangements to display at weekly church services. Patsy will be remembered for her kindness and loving nature; she will be greatly missed.
Patsy was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Lloyd Sr. and two of her sons, Russell (Rusty) Lloyd and Gary Lloyd.
We’d like to say a special thank you to all of the wonderful caregivers and Hospice workers who have helped and stayed by Patsy’s side over the last few years. Thank you for taking such excellent care of her.
The funeral service will be held at Chatham United Methodist Church.
Visitation 11am service at noon, followed by lunch.
