Anne Marie Thawley, age 60, of New Castle, Delaware passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 surrounded by her loving husband, Ron and family. Born in Wilmington, DE, Anne, Marie was the daughter of the late Catherine (Carlile) Stoltenberg and the late Daniel J. O’Donnell. She graduated from Henry C. Conrad High School and for many years worked as an administrative assistant until illness took over her life.
Anne Marie was a passionate Eagles, Phillies, and Flyers fan and especially loved Notre Dame Football. She enjoyed the beach and was happiest sitting poolside in her own backyard oasis. Anne Marie was a member of the Newark Elks Lodge 2281 where she made many great friends.
She will be deeply missed by her husband of 23 years, Ronald Thawley, stepdaughter, Amber Monsalve (Dan), stepson, Justin Thawley (Heather), and 4 beautiful granddaughters, Lilyana, Olivia, and Gabby Monsalve and Hannah Thawley. Her four legged buddy, Logan will be lost without her. Also surviving are sisters, Karen Messick (John), Linda Magaw (Bob), Patty Lukaszewicz (Stas), and Mary Beth Harrington (Sean). Brother-in-law, Chris Thawley (Barbara), sister in-law, Kathy Ferguson (Sam) and Susan Thawley. Stepfather, Howie Stoltenberg and one Uncle, Jack O’Donnell. Several heartbroken nieces and nephews are surviving who held a special bond with their Aunt Annie and numerous cousins who were more like siblings growing up. Anne Marie was predeceased by her sister, Susan Dominick, brother, Danny
OʼDonnell and niece, Laura Magaw.
A celebration of Anne Marie’s life will be held on Sunday, February 16th at the Newark Elks Lodge 2281, 42 Elks Trail, New Castle, Delaware 19720. The family will accept family and friends from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. with the service beginning at 3:00 p.m.
