Obituary

Douglas James Stickler, age 62, of Towson, Maryland, took his final adventure on April 22, 2025.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Dawn Stickler; his sister, Gayle Dettor; and a talented troupe of children: Andrew Pillsbury, Michael Stickler, Katie Stickler, along with stepson Gary Ruhl Jr. and stepdaughter Brooke Foster. Doug’s legacy continues through his six amazing grandchildren: Bryan Clafferty III, Lukas Davis, Zoey Wright, Janelle Stickler, Michael Stickler Jr., and Noah Dunkes.

Born on November 11, 1962, Doug was a proud graduate of Calvert Hall. In 1986, he joined the I.B.E.W and became an integral part of the brotherhood, staying active even into retirement. Through his work, he built connections and explored the country, viewing each new city as an opportunity for mischief and laughter.

Doug was a loyal friend and an even better family man. His sense of humor was legendary—always armed with a pun or a one-liner for any situation. If laughter truly is the best medicine, Doug surely healed an army of friends over the years. A devoted sports fan, he cheered passionately for all things Maryland, cultivating a fan club that included family and friends.

Doug embraced life with zest, relishing hunting trips and travel adventures, and he always found joy in life’s simple moments. He was well-respected and adored, leaving behind a tapestry of cherished memories woven with love.

In true Doug fashion, we invite you to join us for a Celebration of Life in his honor on June 14, 2025 at Robbie's Bar and Grill in Sparrows Point, MD. Let’s share stories, laughter, and a few good jokes as we remember a man who lived life fully and left an indelible mark on our hearts.
